Disney Postpones "Mulan" And "New Mutants" Releases
Disney has postponed the release dates of three of their major upcoming releases as a precaution against the spread of the Coronavirus.
Mulan, X-men spinoff New Mutants, and Antlers, each scheduled for late March and early April releases, are the latest films to be pushed back to Coronavirus fears, following the latest James Bond film No Time to Die and the ninth Fast and the Furious film. Other films such as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have halted their production over safety concerns.
The Coronavirus outbreak is proving an awful time to release a film, as governments have begun to warn against large, unnecessary gatherings of people. Disney likely would have seen abysmal ticket sales had the releases gone on as planned, in addition to abetting a public health risk.
There is no word yet on Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow film, which is scheduled to release on May 1st.
