The developer of Only Up! has removed the game from Steam, citing the stress of maintaining it and their desire to focus on their next project. What was once the game's download page now says the title is "not available."

Only Up! was a brutal platformer that last summer became a Twitch sensation as streamers attempted to master its janky controls, much like they did with the game that inspired Only Up!, Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy.

However, as explained by the developer, "Indiesolodev," in the game's final update, the game was a test of their creativity and abilities. They say maintaining Only Up! has put them under a lot of stress, suggesting they did not anticipate its sudden popularity.

The dev also said they are working on a new project called Kith, which will be a completely different project with an emphasis on cinematography.

Only Up! was a darling of streamers like xQc and Cr1TiKaL earlier this year, though it did catch flak for its apparent association with NFTs, as what appeared to be NFT assets were in the game.

At its peak, it netted a whopping 280,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch.
