'Deltarune Chapter 2' Release Date Announced By Toby Fox For 'Undertale's' Sixth Anniversary

Following an Undertale livestream for the sixth anniversary of the indie game, creator Toby Fox announced today that Deltarune is getting its chapter 2 update release this Friday, September 17th, at 8 p.m.

As expected, Undertale and Deltarune fans on the internet went crazy at the sudden news, which was very unexpected and came with only two days of warning before the update goes live.

People began bringing back their original artwork from when the game first came out, as well as tweeting out things they have noticed from the teaser and making memes about the game already. With the first game and chapter 1 both being rich in memes, it's likely that chapter 2 will follow suit and continue on the series' legacy in memes.

I thought Toby said there was going to be no more individual chapter releases until the game was done.

…I guess there's technically a small chance this is a fakeout, and this is all 6 chapters. There's no such thing as too paranoid where Toby is involved.

That sounds EXACTLY like something he'd do.

On the other hand, it seems more likely that he just noticed it'd been almost as long since Chapter 1 as between Chapter 1 and Undertale and decided not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

OH BOY. I thought that Toby was gonna release the rest of the game all at once though? I remember him saying that.
