(Twitch / Atrioc)

Twitch streamer and content creator Atrioc, six months removed from his highly publicized controversy regarding deepfakes, posted an update video on his YouTube channel informing the internet at large to his endeavors in trying to get deepfake sites shut down — which was the original reasoning he claimed for having the content up on his computer during the ALT-TAB accident.

In the video, Atrioc briefly goes over some of the history leading up to his three-month update before delving into how he spent over $120,000 in his effort to get deepfake images removed from the internet via DMCA requests.

After talking about his previously taken steps, he then shifted gears to talk about current plans, including helping content creators like Amouranth to have better control in removing deepfakes and leaks of themselves online, and his return to video uploads on his main channel.

Online, the reaction to this apology video was largely positive, with many online applauding Atrioc for making a difference in the social landscape.

Critical support to people who own up to their mistakes by actively contributing towards the public good.

Good for him. Rarely does the internet give somebody absolution.
