Fallout 76 Collectible Helmet

If you thought you'd heard the last of the disastrous Fallout 76 release, think again. The wild ride, which has thus far included a game-deleting bug, the leak of customers' private financial information, and of course, Bag-Gate, has taken fans of Bethesda's much-reviled game for one more loop.

On September 19th, a collector's edition wearable power armor helmet from the game was recalled due to dangerously high levels of mold. Gamestop, which was the exclusive purveyor of the red “Fallout 1:1 Power Armor Nuka Cola Helmet,” notified all 32 purchasers of the helmet of the danger, and offered them full refund of the helmet's $150 price. 20,000 helmets were made overall by third-party producer Chronicle Collectibles.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled the helmets because they presented with mold on the fabric insert inside the helmet, putting customers, especially those with “compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold,” at risk for respiratory infections.

Bethesda told DualShockers that the helmets were not part of their beleaguered Power Armor Edition package, and that no other helmets related to Fallout 76 were affected.

Alas, it was not enough to save Yoda, who sadly passed from mold inhalation according to this TikTok:
