CGI In 'The Flash' Is Getting Roasted Online, With Many Saying It Looks Ripped From A Video Game

The Flash finally comes out this Friday after months of debate on whether the film would ever release considering its star, Ezra Miller, is becoming more of a real-life supervillain themself.

However, after some advance screenings, one of the biggest issues many commenters are saying plagues the film is poor CGI.

Dozens of commenters have expressed concerns (or at the very least, jokes and memes) that the CGI shown in previews for the upcoming film looks cheap, with several calling it below the standards of network television and video games.

One clip in particular has drawn the focus of ire, showing The Flash, Supergirl and Batman skidding into a scene as the camera pans behind them, which more than one commenter has compared to the sort of shot typical of AAA video games.

The Daily Dot hypothesized that the out-of-context clips floating around Twitter were due to modern superhero movies composing their climactic battle scenes on big green-screen stages, which they contend strips the action of any physical urgency, though that wouldn't account for people comparing the CGI to other infamous CGI scenes from recent superhero movies like MODOK and Axl's Apparition.

In addition to the look of CGI riling up viewers, others have expressed that the use of CGI to revive a dead actor (in a scene we won't spoil) has left a sour taste in their mouths.

Despite all of this, The Flash is reviewing fairly well among critics and audiences, so perhaps the CGI isn't as distracting as some of social media is making out to be.
