Another day, another viral video from the crypto community getting dunked on. This time, Twitter was alerted by crypto-enthusiast Alex Moss to a "rave party" going on in the Metaverse to celebrate the drop of a new NFT.

For those who have seen a certain YouTube video, one can easily imagine Griffin McElroy running around the party screaming "I think dogs should vote!"

For many, Moss' clip of the Metaverse NFT rave did not capture the limitless potential of the Metaverse as described by its champions, but rather the blocky, janky textures of Second Life — the 2003 life simulation game that was a minor fad in the 2000s.

As more crypto-skeptics saw Moss' clip of the Metaverse in action, the jokes, dunks and yuks came in droves on Twitter.

As Moss' tweet racked up a rough 18,000 quote-tweet to 2,000 like ratio, he at least appeared to have a sense of humor about his little viral moment … or he didn't read the QRTs.

Moss' video joins a long list of crypto and Metaverse stories that have taken a beating on social media. Earlier this year, Walmart's Metaverse shopping simulator depressed viewers with its mundane expression of virtual reality. In late 2021, a Metaverse Wedding also drew unfavorable comparisons to Second Life as well as Final Fantasy XIV.

So the metaverse is vrchat with shitty Roblox graphics, fantastic. worlds.com was more interesting than this shit and it came out in 1995.

The Ouroboros of "innovation" continues to eat its own tail and complain about the lack of seasoning.

Fortnite has done a wayyyy better job of doing their in-game concerts.

Even with their very first real-time concert people weren't just standing around, players could dance and interact with what was going on.

It's fascinating to me how all the people who are super excited about the videogame potential of NFTs/the metaverse have clearly never played a single videogame ever.

Same with game streaming. I said it was a bubble, and look at where it is now.

I think VR has a future not only in entertainment, but in alot of applications, but it isn't a future I would like to have in the hands of a Reptilian like Zucc
