While many video game companies are going all in or at least considering future incorporation of NFTs into their games (much to the chagrin of their fan bases), Blizzard Entertainment is now gauging how its fans feel about NFTs … and it seems they don't like them.

The company recently put out a survey to its fans to gauge opinions on a variety of hot topics in gaming culture today, including cross-platform gaming, virtual reality and NFTs.

Naturally, Blizzard asking its fans what they thought about NFTs led people to surmise that Blizzard was pondering the inclusion of NFTs in its games, and as has nearly always been the case in situations like this, it was met with considerable backlash.

The rumors led Blizzard President Mike Ybarra to shut down the idea that Blizzard was getting into NFTs on Twitter. "No one is doing NFTs," he stated firmly.

Though Ybarra's comment was intended to be reassuring to NFT opponents, it raised the question of why Blizzard polled its fans on NFTs in the first place, and several people weren't entirely convinced by Ybarra's statement.

For the time being, Blizzard's official position on NFTs is "no," but only time will tell if Blizzard is committed to that stance.

Sweet, can't wait until they do them anyway with a paper-thin non-justification.
