Blink-182 Announces Reunion Tour With Tom Delonge, Geriatric Millennials Prep To Leave Retirement Homes
The long, bumpy road for Blink-182 has led the trio of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker back together. This morning, Blink-182 announced a year-long reunion tour with Tom on guitar and toiem duties for the first time in eight years.
Naturally, the trio that rose to stardom in the late 90s and early 2000s with a slew of Jackass-adjacent dick jokes made the announcement with a commercial where a load of people express how very excited they are about them "coming." The announcement comes ahead of a new single, fittingly named "Edging," to be released Friday.
The post-Tom years had been rough for Blink. Alkaline Trio guitarist Matt Skiba did an admirable job in Tom's place, helping Blink return to the top of the charts with the single "Bored to Death." Still, the group never reached the critical success they'd had in their prime, and Tom seemed set on working to prove the existence of aliens. Hoppus, 50, "battled cancer in 2021. It's possible that battle may have led to the group reuniting to make music, as it was reported the trio met in the wake of Hoppus' diagnosis.
News of the reunion and the ensuing tour was met with tremendous excitement and memes from Geriatric Millennials who were 13 when "All The Small Things" was released. A slew of "How do you do, fellow kids?" images hit Twitter courtesy of Blink fans who were ready to relive their prime.
The reunion tour will run for a good chunk of 2023 and stretch into 2024, meaning there are plenty of dates available if you want to catch some 50-year-olds singing about their penises.
