US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became the latest US politician to launch a Twitch channel – but unlike Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, she is actually going to stream games, starting with the 2020 indie hit Among Us.

Yesterday Ocasio-Cortez tweeted that she wanted to try out the 2018 sleeper hit and a 2020 gaming phenomenon Among Us, sending out a call if any streamers would like to join her for a session on the streaming service Twitch.

Anyone want to play Among Us with me on Twitch to get out the vote? (I’ve never played but it looks like a lot of fun). Who would you want to watch in a game together?

Many famous streamers responded that they would be honored to keep AOC company during her first matches in the Mafia-inspired party game. Among those who were keen to vote out impostors together with AOC was Twitch streamer Pokimane, to whom AOC immediately extended an invite.

Pokimane's usual streaming stack, including Among Us detective extraordinaire Disguised Toast and several other OfflineTV streamers, also offered to join. As did popular YouTubers and streamers twomad, Dr. Lupo, Funhaus and many others.

US Representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district and fellow member of The Squad Ilhan Omar also tweeted that she would like to play, getting an immediate invite from AOC.

Twitter erupted with Among Us and Twitch references, calls to vote out Orange as impostor and the obligatory PUBG Bridge edits.

Meanwhile, AOC's Twitch channel accumulated nearly 200,000 followers in less than 24 hours, leaving both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders', both of whom joined Twitch in 2019, in the dust.
