Americana At Brand Mall Evacuated Due To 'Suspicious' Toilet Believed To Be A Bomb

At around 8 p.m. last night, police officers arrived at the Americana At Brand mall in Glendale, California after a toilet painted red with a variety of cryptic symbols appeared outside of an AMC theater, with a threatening note attached.

The note said the toilet had a bomb inside of it.

Upon local authorities being alerted to the suspicious object, the toilet was scanned by a drone and then approached by a bomb squad, which lifted the seat and opened the tank, ultimately finding no explosives.

By 11 p.m., the scene was cleared and police claimed to have apprehended a suspect at a different location. The current whereabouts of the toilet are unknown, although it is likely in police custody.

A press release describing the incident was put out earlier this morning, which stated that it was indeed a "false bomb threat."

The toilet was painted red with a variety of cryptic symbols. The word "DOG" appears to be written on its left side, and there is what appears to be a skull along with several crosses and hashtags on the main body and bowl of the toilet. Around the rim of the seat, the word "attempt" can be clearly made out.

A digital sign propped up next to the toilet read "beautification in progress." It is unknown whether the bomb threat is some sort of art project, sincere criminal act or prank gone horribly wrong.

During the lockdown, members of the public noticed the massive police presence and posted about it. Americana At Brand is a somewhat political site, as it is owned and operated by Rick Caruso, a businessman who ran as a conservative Democrat for Los Angeles Mayor in 2022.

Prominent local Los Angeles-area meme account Americana At Brand Memes (@americanamemes) expressed stunned silence before attempting a meme.
