Finally, after 3,000 years, Elden Ring is a confirmed real game, with a release date and everything.

A gameplay trailer was released at the end of this year's Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live event, with a release date tacked on at the end of January 21st, 2022. The game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and last-gen consoles.

The trailer shows an impressive array of gameplay, with horseback riding, magic and trademark FromSoftware co-op seeming to play a factor in Elden Ring. The trailer also showed off a wide variety of enemies and potential boss battles that should please fans of the Dark Souls series.

Considering the passion of the FromSoft fanbase, the response to the trailer was, needless to say, enthusiastic.

Good to get something, when we heard little to nothing for so long.
Who's placing bets on if we hear even a crumb of anything about Metroid Prime 4. Its been 3 years since that teaser.

For something that was announced and hyped up early on as Dark Souls meets ASoIaF, I'm very pleased to see the former connection extremely evident in the trailer and the latter one completely indiscernible outside of GRRM's name being attached.
