After Over A Year And A Half Of Waiting, 'Smiling Friends' Airs All Episodes In One Night
Back on April 1st, 2020, Adult Swim ran the pilot episode for the TV show Smiling Friends, which is the brainchild of PsychicPebbles and Michael Cusack. The pilot received immense fan approval and buzz in the weeks following its premiere, leading to it being picked up for a full season.
After over a year and a half of waiting, the full season was finally aired in one continuous run on Sunday. The announcements leading up to the event had everyone full of hype, especially those who had a hand in its creation.

Following the premiere, fans of the show started to post their reactions online, as well as their favorite moments from the series. Because the series prominently features plenty of Newgrounds animators and voice actors who are still active on social media, a large amount of the cast posted their own reactions to seeing themselves listed in the credits on episodes.

Smiling Friends is like a return to the old Adult Swim, the one that would find animators and performers online and give them a big break. Hopefully this is a turning point for the network, away from just being the Rick and Morty channel
