Actress AnnaLynne McCord Reads Poem To Vladimir Putin Apologizing For Not Being His Mother In Viral Video

It's well-established that celebrities have difficulty coming up with the right thing to say in times of crisis, but that doesn't seem to stop them from trying. As of last night, Russia invaded Ukraine, and it was only a matter of time before a celebrity took it upon themselves to attempt to soothe the globe with their take on the conflict. That celebrity is actress AnnaLynne McCord.

This afternoon, McCord, of 90210 and Nip/Tuck fame, shared a video of herself reading a poem to Vladimir Putin, starting off with the bewildering introduction, "Dear President Vladimir Putin: I am so sorry I was not your mother."

The gist of the poem is that were Ms. McCord Putin's mother, she would have given him love so that he would not be inclined to start a war in Ukraine.

The entire video was largely deemed excruciating to watch for the cringeworthiness, and Twitter users were left stunned as the tweet racked up an astounding 8,000 quote-tweets to 300 retweets ratio in a span of two hours.

It is doubtful AnnaLynne McCord's now viral video will do much to quell the rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine, as we recently saw with the "Vladdy Daddy" attempts on TikTok. Nevertheless, it has provided a welcome laugh for many social media users doomscrolling through a dark day on the internet.
