A Very Excited Weeknd Chose A Poor Time To Tweet 'LET'S GOOOOOO'

Last night, as Russia invaded Ukraine and stoked global fears of war, violence and death around the world, Twitter was awash with news, geopolitical analysis, intense anxiety about the developing crisis and memes about WW3. Twitter also had R&B pop star The Weeknd posting "LET'S GOOOO!"

No, The Weeknd was not super stoked about the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict into a possible war. He instead appears to have been posting about a TV special related to his latest album, Dawn FM, which will premiere Saturday on Amazon Prime Video.

Nevertheless, Twitter found The Weeknd's tweet darkly amusing for being so out of the loop about current events and shared their reactions in a slew of posts.

After two hours of his tweet getting obliterated by the ratio on Twitter, The Weeknd posted again to note he was unaware of what was happening in Ukraine and was putting a pause on whatever big announcement he was about to make.
