Yuki Suou is a main character and the sister of the main character from the anime Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san, also known as Roshidere and Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian, who has become a seasonal waifu for fans of the show during its initial anime release. The character, who became a meme thanks to the episode two scene where Yuki Suou wakes up her brother, has continued to enjoy viral success through fan art and reposting of her scenes from the anime.

Origin

Roshidere, an anime that began airing on July 3rd, 2024, had its second episode release the following week, on July 10th. In this episode, Yuki is seen waking up her brother, as well as in other scenes within the episode. That same day, the TikToker^[1] getouux created a fan-edit using her various scenes and a slowed-down version of the song Stereo Love to earn over 810,000 likes in two months while kick-starting the Yuki Suou appreciation (shown below).

Spread

As the show continued to release episodes, Yuki continued to be the focus of fan attention, especially with fans noticing her out of pocket lines that were directly translated from the manga. On August 24th, 2024, the TikToker kurona_ytb^[2] uploaded one of Yuki's most known quotes from the manga, in which she declares to her brother that he should "give your lil sis a squeeze," meaning her breasts, while earning over 28,000 likes for turning it into another fan-edit (shown below).

One of the appeals that Yuki has to fans is her fourth wall breaking, which presents itself in many of the clips uploaded of her directly addressing the audience while still in a scene with her brother, and making meta-references. This is best seen in the clip uploaded to TikTok^[3] by .nickzss_ on September 21st, 2024, in which Yuki looks away from her brother, toward the audience, and talks directly to them, earning 45,000 likes in one week (shown below).
