On April 26th, 2019, Marvel superhero film Avengers: Endgame premiered in the United States.^[1] In one scene of the film, character Nebula is engaged in combat with her past self, who accuses her of being weak.

On August 15th, 2019, Redditor cosmobhoi posted a math meme using a two-panel image based on the scene,^[2] with the post gaining over 95,000 upvotes in four days (shown below).

In the following days, the format gained a significant presence online, primarily on Reddit^[3] and in Marvel Shieldposting Facebook group.^[4]
