You're in a Slasher Movie, also known as You're in a Horror Movie, refers to a viral physical comedy video by YouTuber Jaydaddy in which he fends off multiple famous horror movie villains, including Chucky, Art the Clown, Michael Myers and Ghostface, who are all trying to kill him in the short. In early February 2025, the video achieved virality as source material for SFX edits and memes, with users applying sound effects from various video games to it.
Origin
On January 29th, 2025, YouTuber[1] Jaydaddy posted a video titled, "You're in a slasher movie," a third in a series that started with the viral "You're in a horror movie" video[2] posted in August 2024. In the video (shown below), Jaydaddy is attacked by multiple horror movie villains, including Ghostface, Jason, Leatherface, Mike Myers, Chucky and Art the Clown, and fends them off with various melee and ranged weapons. The video (shown below) accumulated over 678,000 likes on YouTube in 10 days.
Spread
On January 31st, 2025, the X[2] account vids that go hard (@vidsthatgohard) reposted the clip, with the post (shown below) gaining over 54.2 million views, 110,000 reposts and 763,000 likes on the platform in one week.
On February 1st, 2025, X[3] user @EduaRRdo_DAE posted the earliest found edit of the video, editing in Terarria music and sounds to replace sounds of screams, hits and shots. The edit (shown below) received over 3,300 reposts and 18,000 likes in one week.
In the following days, more users on X / Twitter posted similar edits, replacing the sounds in the video with sound effects from various video games.
For example, on February 2nd, 2025, X[4] user @YellowInkArts posted a Team Fortress 2 edit that gained over 8,300 reposts and 47,000 likes in five days.
The video maintained popularity as source material for edits through early February 2025.
