About

The Your Name + Poop Song Trend is a TikTok trend in which users search YouTube or TikTok for their name plus the term "poop song," often resulting in a song by musician and YouTuber The Odd Man Who Sings About Poop, Puke and Pee (aka Matt Farley) who uploads original songs about pooping personalized to a wide variety of names. TikTokers first began uploading examples of their poop songs as early as 2020, but the trend was popularized on the app in October 2024 through a series of videos in which users react to their poop songs.

Origin

Musician Matt Farley[1] has a topic channel on YouTube[2] called The Odd Man Who Sings About Poop, Puke and Pee that was created on August 3rd, 2017. The channel contains hundreds of "poop songs," which are songs in which Farley sings about poop with lyrics personalized to a specific name, largely following the titling convention "The [Name] Poop Song." He also has a Spotify[9] account with over 300,000 monthly listeners as of late October 2024.

On August 21st, 2020, TikToker[3] @dj_kris_nebroso posted a video set to "The Kris Poop Song" in which he encourages users to look for their name plus the term "poop song" to find their personalized poop song, garnering over 193,000 views in four years. This is the earliest known video to promote the trend.

Spread

The trend continued to spread over the following years. On March 17th, 2021, TikToker[4] @goldi_glob posted a video in which he reacts to "The Saul Poop Song," garnering over 2.5 million views in three years.

In October 2024, the trend was popularized on the app as it spread among TikTok users. For example, on October 1st, 2024, TikToker[5] @elfa_b posted a video reacting to "The Aoife Poop Song," wondering who the man is that makes the songs and encouraging others to participate in the trend, garnering over 14.6 million views in three weeks.

The trend continued to prove popular throughout October 2024, with some TikTokers setting videos to "The Aoife Poop Song" if they are unable to find a poop song personalized to their name. On October 5th, musician Benny Blanco posted a video to TikTok[6] of his poop song, garnering over 2.1 million views in two weeks.

On October 13th, 2024, TikToker[7] @brookerobertss0 posted a video surprising her boyfriend with his poop song, garnering over 500,000 views in 10 days. On October 21st, Dexerto[8] then reported on the trend.
