Your BF/GF Should Be Your 2nd Priority, continued, Your First Priority Should Always Be Your Rap Career is an ironic phrase first posted to Twitter in May 2019, which was screenshotted, becoming the subject of photoshops over the following years as people changed the caption to make new ironic jokes propping one arguably less important thing over a more important one. The caption was notably used on a viral Facebook post in January 2020, which became a similar subject of ironic photoshops.

On May 8th, 2019, Twitter^[2] user @rasberruu posted, "your boyfriend/girlfriend should be your 2nd priority. your 1st priority should be animal crossing on the switch," gaining over 65,000 likes and 17,000 retweets in just under three years (shown below).

The post inspired Twitter users to make variations of it. For example, on May 9th, 2019, Twitter^[3] user @notviking posted a version about protesting the cancellation of the show Freaks and Geeks gaining over 26,000 likes and 4,600 retweets in three years. People also screenshotted and edited the original tweet and posted it, like Facebook^[4] page Ben Cousins' Crack Den on September 9th, gaining over 1,200 reactions and 17,000 shares in roughly the same span of time (shown below).

On January 31st, 2020, Facebook^[1] meme page Small Memes With Big Dreams posted a text post with a wool background that reads, "Your bf/gf should be your 2nd priority. Your 1st priority should ALWAYS be your rap career," gaining over 12,000 shares, 4,700 comments and 2,900 reactions in two years (shown below).

The image with the wool background became a popular exploitable in the same vein over the following months and years. On October 30th, Instagram^[5] user emogamergf420 posted a version of the meme using their username as the 1st priority, gaining over 13,500 likes in just over a year (shown below, left). On January 19th, 2021, Instagram^[6] user pinkcatdaily posted an original drawing referencing the posts, gaining over 24,300 likes in a year (shown below, right).

On July 20th, Facebook^[7] page Loki: Into the Owenverse, an Owen Wilson meme page, posted a version of the meme referencing Owen Wilson, gaining over 300 reactions in seven months (shown below).

On January 29th, 2022, Instagram^[8] page uncreativeseaurchin posted a photoshopped Tumblr post using the meme, referencing "Bingus": throughout, gaining over 16,400 likes in three weeks (shown below).
