Young Stroker the Body Snatcher refers to a series of memes in which a person nicknamed "Young Stroker the Body Snatcher" is shown joining someone's Uber ride or otherwise appearing on someone's phone through a notification, eliciting fear in the recipient of the notification. The original meme was posted to X (Twitter) in May 2018 and became the subject of reposts and further memes throughout the 2020s.

Origin

On May 19th, 2018, X[1] user @yosoymichael posted a screenshot of an Uber notification reading, "Young Stroker the Body Snatcher will be joining you along your route," the poster writing, "Should I be scared?" garnering over 7,900 likes in six years (shown below). This is the earliest known example of the meme.

Spread

The post gained viral spread in 2023. On September 27th, 2023, Instagram[2] user leanopp posted the image of the notification, garnering over 6,400 likes in five months. On September 28th, X[3] user @LurkerLouis posted the screenshot, writing, "I’m never taking an Uber in Atlanta again bro 😭" garnering over 95,000 likes in the same span of time (shown below). The meme was reposted to Instagram[4] by justinwhangyt on September 29th, garnering over 30,000 likes in the same span of time.

On October 11th, Instagram[5] user lilcasper.v2 reposted a version of the meme that gained over 110,000 likes in four months, with Instagram[6] user krustyobama posting it on October 17th, garnering over 200,000 likes in the same span of time. On November 26th, X[7] user @equine__dentist posted a new version of the meme showing a notification that claims the poster shared their location with Young Stroker the Body Snatcher, garnering over 29,000 likes in three months (shown below).
