You Won't Like Doc When He's Angry refers to a series of video edits based on the fight with Doc Louis in Punch-Out!! for the Wii where the player punches a chocolate bar from Louis' hand and he gets angry, ripping his shirt. The fight first became the subject of edits in 2016 and became increasingly popularized as an exploitable format in 2022.

Origin

On May 18th, 2009, Punch-Out!! was released on the Nintendo Wii. During one of the fights with Doc Louis, the player character Mac punches a chocolate bar out of his hand. Doc Louis gets angry and says, "You won't like Doc when he's angry," then tears off his shirt, revealing a leopard print shirt underneath (shown below).

On May 12th, 2015, Deviant Art^[1] user noahisallgood posted a drawing using the quote. On December 9th, 2016, YouTuber^[2] metalman45 posted an edit of the fight where Louis says the line then goes to tear open his shirt, adding a censor bar over the tear to make it seem like he's exposing himself, gaining over 75,000 views in just over five years (shown below).

On April 15th, 2018, YouTuber^[3] Ghost Hunter Mike posted an edit of the This Is How You Eat A Big Mac video adding the audio from the clip and placing Doc's face over the man, gaining over 215,000 views in four years (shown below).

On August 25th, 2020, YouTuber^[4] Frame by Frame animation posted an edit of the scene, gaining over 130,000 views in two years (shown below, left). On September 24th, YouTuber^[5] ZesT posted another edit, gaining over 224,000 views in a comparable span of time (shown below, right).

On March 24th, 2022, YouTuber^[6] Chai posted an edit where Doc Louis punches Mac and the screen distorts, followed by Mac waking up in The Backrooms, gaining over 437,000 views in two months (shown below).

On April 12th, YouTuber^[7] ZhanExtras posted a Good Ending / Bad Ending meme using the clip, gaining over 146,000 views in a month (shown below).
