You Have Minutes To Live refers to a snowclone popular on Tumblr and Twitter in which a doctor informs the poster that they have a certain amount of time to live, which the poster elects to fill by watching a particular video.

Origin

On November 17th, 2016, Redditor 4Ha1 ^[1] posted the first example of the meme, with the doctor saying he had seven minutes to live and 4Ha1 responding with a Replacement Remix of Bee Movie. The post gained over 4,400 points (97% upvoted) within the first year (shown below).

Spread

The following day, Tumblr user drunp^[2] posted a screenshot of the post and gained over 135,000 notes. The meme began spreading quickly on both Tumblr and Twitter as users created variations with some of their own favorite videos. For example, one of the most popular posts on Tumblr with over 35,000 notes includes a scene from Yuri On Ice!!! posted by talyaha (shown below).

Another popular post by lesbianrey^[3] features Richard Spencer Punched In The Face that gained over 34,000 notes (shown below, left). On Twitter,^[4] there are many examples of the meme template. One of the more popular examples posted by @noamsus^[5] features a video of wrestler Noam Dar saying "Alicia Fox" for ten minutes, gaining nearly 700 retweets and 1,327 likes (shown below, right).
