You Fat, You Stink and You Ugly or You Fat, Stinkin' and You Ugly refers to a viral video of a racist Black New York man verbally harassing a Dominican Republic woman in public while flashing his money, calling her "fat," "ugly," "broke" and a "monkey," also questioning why she's in "his country." The video was posted to Twitter in August 2020 and went viral over the following years, including becoming a viral audio on TikTok. A second video of the man similarly harassing someone was posted later that year, followed by a third video in 2021 that went viral on Twitter in early 2023.

Origin

On August 1st, 2020, Twitter user @icaptainchanel shared a video of a Black man in New York verbally harassing her at Port Authority while flashing his money in front of his face, calling her racist names and questioning why she's in "his country." In the now-deleted tweet, she writes:

"This man came up behind me and randomly started to harass me while I walked through Port Authority with my friends. Because I’m a “Fat Latina” He called me a monkey and fat shamed me. I kept my cool until I couldn’t no longer. I’m so angry. We were minding our business.

The tweet was reported on by Heavy.com^[1] on August 3rd, 2020. The video has now been deleted with the tweet, but was reuploaded by YouTuber^[2] nuke on August 5th, garnering over 260,000 views in three years (age-restricted, alternate reupload shown below). On September 19th, 2020, YouTuber^[3] nuke then posted a second video of the man similarly harassing people in New York, using the term "monkey" and saying "get out of my country" to someone (age restricted). The video gained over 78,000 views in three years.

On March 29th, 2021, the original video was posted by TikToker^[4] @playboi.bruno, garnering over 3.9 million views in two years. The original sound inspired over 1,100 uses over the next two years, including lip-dub skits and animations set to the audio (notable examples shown below).

On April 2nd, YouTuber^[5] conch then posted a video setting the audio to a clip from Teen Titans GO!, garnering over 31,000 views in two years (shown below). On June 28th, the video was posted to Reddit's /r/PublicFreakout,^[6] garnering over 2,900 upvotes in two years. In August 2021, another original sound^[7] of the audio became popularized on TikTok.

On November 26th, 2021, YouTuber^[8] nuke posted a third video of the same man verbally harassing someone in New York, garnering over 21,000 views in two years (age restricted).

On February 23rd, 2023, Twitter^[9] user @AsianDawn4 reposted the second sighting of the man, garnering over 1,300 likes in four days. Later that day, Twitter^[10] user @MrAndyNgo shared the video, garnering over 30,000 likes and 5,300 retweets in four days (shown below). On February 24th, Twitter^[11][12] users @yvngplank and @kiracantmizz shared the video, garnering over 62,000 and 68,000 likes respectively in three days.

On February 26th, Twitter^[13] user @upblissed posted a screenshot from the video, writing, "you fat, you stink, and you ugly, AND YOU BROKE MONKEY," garnering over 51,000 likes in a day (shown below).
