The "You Better Bark Like You Want It" Trend is a TikTok lip dub trend set to a portion of the 1997 Sir-Mix-a-Lot song "Bark Like You Want It" in which a man lip syncs, "And just when I thought I could palm it," then a woman lip syncing, "You better drop to your knees and bark like you want it," and finally the man is shown on his knees like a dog, spinning in circles. The trend was popularized in mid-June 2025 and was purportedly started by TikToker @j3nnabrown.

Origin

In early June 2025, a portion of the Sir-Mix-a-Lot song "Bark Like You Want It" became the subject of lip dubs and memes on TikTok.

For example, on June 7th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @impaalaa67 posted a video where a man and woman, presumably the TikToker and her partner, stare into each other's eyes as the lyrics play, followed by the partner dropping to his knees like a dog, garnering over 1.8 million views in 10 days. This could be considered the earliest example of the trend.

Spread

The trend spread over the following days as people continued to lip dub to the song.

On June 10th, 2025, TikToker^[2] @j3nnabrown posted a video with her partner. The video begins with her partner lip dubbing the lyrics, "And just when I thought I could palm it," from the song "Bark Like You Want It." The camera pans to the TikToker, who lip syncs, "You better drop to your knees and bark like you want it." The camera then pans to the man, who is on the floor spinning like a dog. The video gained over 9.4 million views in a week.

On June 11th, TikToker^[3] @lcmagicals posted a video doing the trend that garnered over 6.4 million views in six days. On June 13th, X^[4] user @kurafay_ posted a piece of Blue Lock fan art captioned with the lyrics, garnering over 1,800 likes in four days.

On June 15th, 2025, X^[5] user @shutterxfox posted four images thirsting over shirtless Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2 captioned, "BARK LIKE YOU WANT IT BABY," garnering over 2,000 likes in two days.

On June 16th, TikToker^[6] and influencer Brooke Monk (@brookemonk_) posted a video doing the trend, garnering over 3.9 million views in a day.
