You Are the Worst Creature Who Ever Lived! or See Ya Larry! is a redraw meme based on a panel from SpongeBob Comics issue 58 in which Larry the Lobster yells at Patrick Star from the back of a taxi, "You are the worst creature who ever lived!" after Patrick shouts, "See ya Larry!" The comic was published in 2016 and the panel was posted online in 2023, inspiring a viral redraw trend on X / Twitter in March 2024.

Origin

On July 13th, 2016, issue 58 of SpongeBob Comics was released. One story in the book, titled "Crusoem Twosome," sees Patrick Star and Larry the Lobster stuck on a raft together, battle a sea monster and find an island paradise before being rescued.^[1] After the two are rescued, Larry yells at Patrick after a taxi drops him off back home, "You are the worst creature who ever lived!" out of frustration over their time stuck in isolation together. The panel can be seen in a review of the context by YouTuber^[2] ultimatespongebob101 posted on July 29th, 2016 (shown below).

On January 6th, 2023, Redditor u/Chicolate_thunder posted the isolated panel to /r/BikiniBottomTwitter,^[3] writing, "I love this image too much," garnering over 1,400 upvotes in a year (shown below). This is the earliest known user to share the image online.

On March 25th, 2024, X^[4] user @nescartridges posted the image, writing, "saying goodbye to your friend after playing a fighting game late at night," garnering over 77,000 likes in a week (shown below).

The post inspired numerous redraws of the panel over the following days, largely in the quote-reposts. That day, X^[5] user @koafreedraw posted a Mega-Man redraw of the meme, garnering over 13,000 likes in a week (shown below, left). On March 27th, X^[6] user @PTSAcc18 posted a Pizza Tower redraw that gained over 4,900 likes in four days (shown below, right).

That same day, X^[7] user @sonicwizard6500 posted a voiceover of the original comic panel, garnering over 2,100 likes in four days (shown below).

On March 28th, 2024, DeviantArt^[8] user gordodel2006 posted a Super Mario redraw of the meme, garnering over 5,000 views and 150 favorites in five days (shown below).
