You Are Not Normal refers to a series of memes based on a scene from YouTuber Dream's music video for the song "Mask" in which he holds a note from his doctor reading "you are not normal!" The still image from the scene was used as a reaction image and an exploitable in early June 2021.
Origin
On June 8th, 2021, YouTuber[1] Dream released a music video for his song "Mask." In one scene of the video (1:45 mark, seen below), Dream is holding a doctor's note reading "you are not normal!" The video received over 4.1 million views in one day.
Spread
Starting on June 9th, 2021, a still image of Dream holding the note gained popularity as a reaction image and an exploitable alongside Normal Pills, another meme based on the same video. For example, on that day Twitter[2] user @ShineLily_ posted a meme about Fire Emblem playerbase that gained over 1,400 retweets and 9,700 likes in one day (shown below, left). Later on the same day, Twitter[3] user @hunter_hhhh combined the image with the _"American Psycho Business Card":https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/american-psycho-business-card-scene-lets-see-paul-allens-card meme, with the post gaining over 2,900 retweets and 19,400 likes in one day (shown below, right).
