Yolo Seat Belt PSA is a student-made public service announcement created to warn people to use their seatbelt. The videos poor visual effects and acting led many TikTok users to parody the video.

Origin

On Feb 23, 2018, SSHSMediaClass uploaded the video entitled "PSA: Always Buckle Up" (shown below). The video has gained over 79,500 views in a year.

Spread

On April 1st, 2019, TikTok user @Autumnarbour31 uploaded the sound clip and made a parody that has gained 394,600 likes and 18,000 shares in 17 days (shown below). The sound clip has been used in over 78,800 videos in 17 days.

On April 5th, @ayynate uploaded a Musical.ly parody of the video to TikTok (shown below, left). The video has gained over 289,300 likes and 1,700 shares in 13 days. The next day, @Dominic Toliver uploaded a parody that accumulated 511,500 likes and 7,100 shares in 12 days (shown below, center). @A1saud also uploaded a video with a high number of likes reaching 426,400 likes in 12 days and 3,200 shares (shown below, right).
