Yofrangel's Corona Virus refers to a song and music video by Dominican Dembow singer Yofrangel 911 which went viral on Twitter in February 2020 following its release. The song and music video theme is the 2019-20 Wuhan Coronavirus Outbreak. The song was both praised for its sound and criticized for its subject matter.

Origin

On February 9th, 2020, Yofrangel released a music video for the song Corona Virus," which features the singer in the back of an ambulance (shown below). The video gained over 59,420 views and 2,100 likes in three days.

Spread

On February 9th, Twitter user @DJDanaLu "They really made a dembow song about the corona virus I cannot 😭" and then shared the video in a reply (shown below). The video garnered over 585,700 views on Twitter in three days.

That day, Twitter user @juantrinidad_ retweeted the video with the caption "Dominicans are undefeated" which received over 13,100 likes in three days (shown below). Many Twitter users commented on the song and it's contents. For example @slavicshawty tweeted, "I hate that the dominican corona virus song is something I would bust down to in the club." Insider^[2] and The Daily Dot^[3] both published articles on the song.
