About
Y'all When I Put On My Dad Fit and You Ok? Why You So Pissed? refer to two videos and drawings by TikTok artist Pumpkin the Gentlemen that became the subjects of memes following a July 2024 controversy surrounding him that resulted in the artist privatizing his accounts. The controversy inspired users on both TikTok and X / Twitter to use "Y'all when I put on my dad fit" as a mocking catchphrase, which also became a TikTok audio, while also inspiring users to draw a specific face featured in a comic with the speech bubble "You ok? Why you so pissed?" on characters from various media properties. Notably, the two memes heavily support one another.
Origin
In July 2024, TikTok and X artist Pumpkin the Gentlemen came under fire from users on both apps for interacting inappropriately with his young followers. For example, in an X post, he wrote "when ur older" in response to a purported minor writing, "I want to get rizzed by the pumpkin too." He also posted artwork deemed inappropriate to his specific SFW X account (examples shown below).
That month, TikTokers and X users began reposting examples of Pumpkin's art and TikTok videos to mock them. Primarily, a video in which a Pumpkin-headed character with an angry-looking expression on its face under a speech bubble reading, "You ok? Why you so pissed?" and a video featuring the caption, "Y'all when I put on my dad fit," that became the main focuses of mockery.

That same day, TikToker[3] @_l.lyle posted a video consisting of an original sound repeating the phrase "y'all when I put on my dad fit" in a high-pitched tone, becoming a popular audio that month (shown below, right). In the video, the user draws the face featured in the "You ok?" video onto another character, garnering over 1.7 million views in four days.
