Would You Fuck A Clone Of Yourself refers to a Buzzfeed article which asked this question to its audience and offered several arguments both for and against such an act. These answers have been photoshopped onto images of fictional characters, meant to illustrate how each character would respond to the question, describing key characters as seen by their fandom.

Origin

On November 4th 2015, Buzzfeed employees Katie Notopoulos and Ryan Broderick published an article on the Buzzfeed website entitled "Can We Ask You A Really Weird Question?"^[1] Meant as a joke opinion poll, the article first asks the reader: "Would you fuck a clone of yourself?", to which answer either is "Yes" or "No"; it then asks them what their "strongest feeling about clone fucking" is, letting them choose between the following 12 possibilities:

☐ I don't want to fuck my clone because that would be gay sex and I'm not gay.
☐ I'm not gay, but I would actually totally fuck my clone.
☐ I'm gay, but I still don't want to fuck my clone, that's gross and weird.
☐ I don't want to fuck my clone because my self-loathing is THAT strong.
☐ I'd totally fuck my clone because I want to know if I'm good in bed.
☐ I'd fuck my clone because who would know better how to fuck ME than ME?
☐ I'd totally do all sort of weird things to my clone I'd be embarrassed to ask someone else to do.
☐ To be honest, fucking my clone has always been my fantasy.
☐ It's basically the same as masturbating, right? So no big deal.
☐ It's not the same as masturbating; it'd be like having sex with your twin. Wrong and bad!
☐ I would not have sex with my clone because what if my clone is evil.
☐ Not only would I have sex with my clone, I'd probably make a bunch of clones and just get it on with all of them at once because that's how pro clone-fucking I am.

As of early 2018, more than 240,000 people have answered the first poll, with the "No" side reaching 57% of the votes. The dominant answer to the second poll is: "It'd be like having sex with your twin", with 16% of over 210,000 votes.

Spread

The first occurrence of the Buzzfeed article being used in a parodic work is a December 14th, 2015 post from Tumblr user Franksgun,^[2] who photoshopped screenshots of the poll onto It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia characters. The post gained over 15,000 notes over 2 years (examples shown below).

On September 10th, 2017, Tumblr user ladybenderbr photoshopped lines from both of the polls into screenshots of characters from the animated series Futurama. ^[3] Her post gained over 168,000 notes in less than 7 months (examples shown below).

Some posts based on this snowclone, mainly those referencing all of the answers, feature an additional 15th line that isn't present in the original Buzzfeed article:

The line itself can be read in Tumblr posts since November 2016.^[4] One of the oldest appearances of this line in a photoshopped picture disguised as a Buzzfeed poll answer is from Tumblr user punkyhime's own take on the meme posted January 28th, 2017 in a post based on the anime My Hero Academia.^[5]
