Won't You Shake A Poor Sinner's Hand or Are You Ready TikTok Guy refers to a viral video of TikToker thatoneguy.tt lip dubbing to "Friends on the Other Side" from The Princess and the Frog while using a face-distorting filter and dark lighting for a creepy atmosphere. The video was posted to TikTok in August and became popularized as an image macro meme format in October.

Origin

On August 29th, 2022, TikToker[1] @thatoneguy.tt posted a video in his signature creepy style where he lip dubs to "Friends on the Other Side" in shadowy light and with a filter that distorts his face to give him a large smile, garnering over 5.2 million views in three months (shown below, left). On August 30th he uploaded a longer version to TikTok,[2] garnering over 2.4 million views in roughly the same span of time (shown below, right).

On September 7th, YouTuber[3] Frank Yang posted a version of the video with a meme caption about engineering, garnering over 240,000 views in two months (shown below).

TikTokers continued to post memes using the video in the following weeks. On October 16th, 2022, TikToker[4] @wyatt.williams posted a meme using the video with a top caption reading, "The nuclear bomb in my basement after the FBI raid my house," garnering over 465,000 views in a month (shown below).

On October 16th, TikToker[5] @@bu11y_maguire_official posted a meme using the video, garnering over 240,000 views in three weeks (shown below). On October 19th, Instagram[6] user playermisfitv3 posted a meme using the video, garnering over 2,500 views in three weeks.

On October 23rd, TikToker[7] @_afro_man_ posted a video using the meme, garnering over 770,000 views in two weeks (shown below, left). On October 24th, TikToker[8] @memelordmondaypodcast posted a meme using the video, garnering over 123,000 views in two weeks (shown below, right). On October 31st, YouTuber[9] Kaoka Studio posted the full version of the video, garnering over 750,000 views in a week.

On November 8th, 2022, YouTuber[10] Lessons In Meme Culture posted a video explaining the meme, garnering over 157,000 views in under a day (shown below).
