Woh Stree Hai, Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti Hai is a catchphrase and reaction image from the 2018 Indian comedy-horror film Stree, directed by Amar Kaushik and starring Pankaj Tripathi. The dialogue translates to, "She's a woman, she can do anything," and first went viral on Facebook in early 2019 before experiencing an annual resurgence on International Women's Day.

Origin

On August 31st, 2018, the Bollywood comedy-horror film Stree, meaning "Woman," was released. The film contained a scene where actor Pankaj Tripathi, playing the role of "Rudra," delivered the dialogue, "Woh street hai, much bhi kar sakti hai," which translates to, "she's a woman, she can do anything." The scene can be accessed via a May 17th, 2020 upload to Youtube[1] by Kaatil Boyz, where it gathered over 146,000 likes in two years (seen below).



The earliest known use of the image and catchphrase was in a January 27th Facebook[2] post on the page Alia vs Pappu Jokes, where it gathered over 13,000 likes in over four years (seen below).

On January 31st, 2019, the Facebook[3] page Sociolik posted a meme using the catchphrase, gathering over 4,000 likes in nearly four years (seen below, left). On June 14th, 2019, the Facebook[4] page Sach Kadwa Hai posted another meme using the catchphrase, gathering over 12,000 likes in over three years (seen below, right).



On August 22nd, 2019, the Facebook[5] page Idiotic Minds posted a wholesome meme using the catchphrase, gathering over 160,000 likes in over three years (seen below, left). On August 25th, the Facebook[6] page School Life = Unlimited Fun posted another meme using the phrase, gathering over 4,000 likes in over three years (seen below, right).
