Wi Wi Wi Cat or WiWiWi Cat refers to a video of an orange kitten eating food and making sounds that resemble "wi wi wi," "uyaya" and "wu wu wi," as well as another video of a different kitten sitting in its food bowl that uses the same audio. In February 2025, both videos inspired a series of hopecore edits on TikTok, typically being paired with montages of nature clips and set to the song "Dramamine" by Flawed Mangoes.
Origin
On January 28th, 2024, TikTok[1] user @chocoquierellorarr_ posted a video of her orange kitten Pepe eating from its bowl while making "wi wi wi" and "uyayaya" sounds. The video (shown below). The video, captioned, "ñamñam," received over 16.6 million views and 3.9 million likes in one year.
On February 2nd, 2024, TikTok[2] user @aramoix_xiomara reposted a video, recaptioning it, "wiwiwiwi 🥰." The upload received over 7.2 million views and 793,000 likes in one year.
On March 16th, 2024, @chocoquierellorarr_ posted another video of the kitten eating and making similar sounds, captioned, "Ewewe." The post (shown below) received over 34.4 million views and 7.5 million likes on TikTok[3] in one year.
Spread
On January 17th, 2025, TikTok[4] user @gatosdeapoyo used the sound from the second video by @chocoquierellorarr_, combining it with a video of another kitten eating from a food bowl while sitting inside of it. The video (shown below) received over 76.6 million views and 14.8 million likes in one month.
On February 1st, 2025, TikTok[5] user @timson__1…2…3 posted a Hopecore edit of the video, adding a montage of nature clips and subtitles for the meows, combining it with the song "Dramamine" by Flawed Mangoes. The edit (shown below) garnered over 14 million views and 2.3 million likes in two weeks.
In the following week, @timson__1…2…3 posted more hopecore edits based on the video. For example, a video posted on February 10th received over 99.2 million views and 17.1 million likes on TikTok[6] in one week (shown below).
The edits received viral spread online through reposts on TikTok, X[7] and Instagram,[8] and inspired more hopecore edits on TikTok based on the kitten videos in mid-February 2025.
