The video was originally posted in July 2020 then deleted at around 5 million views and reposted by the same TikToker that same month, becoming a popular lip dub audio and becoming the subject of remixes over the following months.

Origin

On July 23rd, 2020, TikToker^[1] @kissmytisha reuploaded a video of hers that was originally uploaded and deleted days earlier where she drinks from a cup of McDonald's Sprite then asks, "Why is it spicy?" in a deep voice, garnering over 1.8 million views in three years (shown below). The original video allegedly gained over 5.4 million views before it was deleted by TikTok.

The reupload's original sound became notably popular over the following years in lip dub videos (popular examples from 2021 shown below).^[2][3] The original sound was used over 17,000 times in two years.

On March 11th, 2022, TikToker^[4] @kourtni_eckstein posted an edit of the sound combining it with the Just Hay Fever sound, garnering over 2 million views in a year (shown below). The original sound for @kourtni_eckstein's video also became popular, inspiring over 10,000 videos in a year.
