About

Whooky Sack refers to a series of posts and memes making reference to a fictional item called a "whooky sack" without giving any further context as to what it is in order to cause confusion. The majority of the posts seem to be made by a single troll with multiple accounts, but this is not confirmed.

Origin

"Whooky Sack" is a nonsense term originating from the Peniswater Discord server, a troll server responsible for numerous online raids. The term is meant to confuse. Know Your Meme has interviewed members of Peniswater twice about various raids and memes that they took part in.[10][11]

The first mention of the term "whooky sack" dates back to May 21st, 2019, when now banned user /u/fortnitebruh37 made a post titled "Flight attendant stole my PERSONAL ITEM" to /r/americanairlines[3] (shown below). The post describes an incident where a flight attendant steals the poster's personal item and puts it in her whooky sack, and ends with the poster threatening to take the whooky sack back if not returned in 5-10 days. The post is an admitted troll, as evidenced by subreddit /r/Fortnitebruh37,[4] which features a post listing subreddits that the user plans on "crushing and annihilating."

On April 29th, 2020, now-banned Reddit user girlhaver made a post to Kanye West subreddit /r/Kanye[1] titled, "What are the "whooky sack" lines off of MBDTF supposed to mean?" The post reads, "I think Kanye makes a few references to his "whooky sack" somewhere in the tracks "Dark Fantasy" and "All of the Lights." Does anybody know what these lyrics are supposed to mean? I'm so confused." It's unknown whether this account is connected to /u/fortnitebruh37, but could be another account used by them to troll.

On that day, Salt_Understanding commented, "what part are you referring to? that's not a lyric in either song" to which girlhaver responded, "Sorry, I should have been more clear in the post." When asked to clear up what they're talking about again, girlhaver answers, "Oh, my bad lol." intentionally refusing to clear up the confusion to further troll users.

Spread

On November 29th, salad.snake shared a screenshot of girlhaver's post to their Instagram[2] page, garnering over 41,000 likes. On November 30th, MalleableBasilisk posted a screenshot of the post including the trolling in the comments section to /r/comedyheaven,[5] garnering over 2,100 upvotes in a month (shown below).

On December 1st, whooky sack was defined on Urban Dictionary by Instinctual777.[8] On December 29th, now banned user GodFromTheBible posted an image macro with the text, "WHAT THE FUCK IS A WHOOKY SACK" over an image of Spongebob screaming to /r/retardog[6] (shown below, left). On April 27th, banned account MuslimCube posted an image macro mentioning the whooky sack to /r/TheChurchofChungus[7] (shown below, right). It's possible these are also alternative accounts owned by FortniteBruh37.

On December 31st, Dumper uploaded a video titled "Whooky Sack" to YouTube,[9] in which the Reddit post is read by a text-to-speech machine followed by edited Kanye West music video footage featuring the words "whooky sack" replacing other lyrics (shown below).
