Whole Lotta Choppas Dance Challenge, also known as Wanna See Me Do My Dance, in These Thousand Dollar Pants, refers to a dance challenge on TikTok set to the 2020 hip-hop song "Whole Lotta Choppas"[1] by Sada Baby. The dance involves stepping side to side and swinging your shoulders to the beat of the song, followed by pointing a finger gun toward the camera, then rhythmically bumping your fists together behind and in front of your body. The dance was first created by TikToker Ohbukster[2] in late August, gaining further popularity throughout the first half of September.
Origin
On August 27th, 2020, TikToker Ohbukster uploaded a video of himself performing a dance he created to the song "Whole Lotta Choppas" by Sada Baby (shown below). The video gained over 2.4 million likes in under a month.
Spread
On September 3rd, TikToker Charli D'Amelio performed the dance on her TikTok, garnering 9.3 million likes in under two weeks. TikToker xobrooklynne performed the dance on the same day, achieving 7 million likes in under two weeks. A few days later on September 7th, rapper Tyga performed the dance, getting over 18 million views and 3 million likes in a week. Later that day, David Dobrik performed the dance with nataliemariduena, garnering 2.9 million likes in a week.
On September 11th, StayHipp[3] published an article about the dance. As of mid-September 2020, over 3.1 million videos have been uploaded using the sound clip on TikTok.[4]
