"Who Are You?" Shocked White Woman refers to memes and jokes about a reaction image featuring an older, confused-looking woman wearing glasses who appears to be yelling in distress in a Starbucks coffee shop alongside text that reads, "Who are you?" The meme originates from a 2022 TikTok video posted by user @1blesstmomma, in which the woman in the meme is shown to be interrupting an argument @1blesstmomma is having with Starbucks employees by ranting about how her "husband is dying." The screengrab of the distressed older woman reaching for her head came to be used as a reaction meme and image caption format to joke about being surprised by something unexpected.

Origin

On November 11th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @1blesstmomma posted a video confronting Starbucks employees for trying to get her to hurry out of a bathroom. Toward the end of the video, it clips to show a distressed older white lady yelling at the woman recording about how her "husband is dying," even as the person recording repeats, "Who are you?" The video gathered over 3.8 million views and 500,000 likes in three years.

The video was reposted to Twitter / X^[2] on December 25th, 2022, by user @allreactionvids, and in GIF form to Tenor^[3] on July 6th, 2023.

One of the earliest known memes featuring the still image of the "Who Are You?" reaction image was a March 30th, 2025, post on Twitter / X^[4] by @r0ttensilver that read, "thought I planted a tulip but turns out it was an onion." The post gathered over 190,000 likes in seven days.

On August 28th, 2025, X^[5] user @elliotconk posted a tweet featuring the "Who Are You?" reaction image, writing, "Person started jiggling bathroom door handle the moment I went in and didn't stop until I opened the door." The post gathered over 140,000 likes in two months.

On October 7th, 2025, X^[7] user @DiabolicalSpuds posted a tweet featuring the "Who Are You?" reaction image, writing, "Pharmacy app: Do you want to pick up your medication on Tuesday at noon? / Me: Sure sounds great. / The pharmacy when I show up on Tuesday at noon:" The post gathered over 140,000 likes in three days.
