Whisper to Me refers to an exploitable webcomic by K009 in which a person asks their lover to whisper something to them. What the character whispers is altered in the exploitable variations.

Origin

On January 7th, 2016, K009^[1] posted the original comic to their Tumblr. The whisper is "I liked Kylo Ren better with the mask on." The post gained over 18,000 notes (shown below).

Spread

The comic was quickly turned into an exploitable. On January 9th, 2016, Imgur user j035m0^[2] posted an edit in which the character in the final panel says "Another Settlement needs your help" (shown below, left). On February 4th, an edit appeared on /r/meirl^[3] that gained over 620 points (shown below, right).

The exploitable appeared with numerous variations over the following two years. Some popular examples include a post by Tumblr user the-antifeminist-atheist^[6] which read Taxation Is Theft in the final panel, gaining 760 notes (shown below, left). Another post by Imgur user MechaDeath gained over 1,700 points and 41,000 views (shown below, right).

In December of 2017, they began trending on /r/MemeEconomy. On December 11th, user Gorod-Krovi^[4] posted the template for the exploitable to the subreddit (shown below, left). A Traps Are Gay edit of the exploitable posted the same day gained 95 points^[5] (shown below, right).
