What's Your Religion is an exploitable image series featuring a screenshot of a text message conversation in which a bizarre image in sent in response to the question "What's your religion?," leading the recipient to say "I'm interested."

Origin

On August 31st, 2016, Redditor cortexer submitted a screenshot of a text message conversation in which a person asks "Are you religious? I'd like to introduce you to my religion" followed by a picture of a Teletubby doll hung on a crucifix and the reply "I'm interested" (shown below). Prior to being archived, the post gathered upwards of 3,400 points (97% upvoted) on the /r/me_irl subreddit.[1]

Spread

On November 5th, 2016, the Unusual Horror Facebook[2] page reposted the Teletubby crucifix image. On December 9th, Redditor DanknessIn_MemesOut submitted a photoshopped version of the text message screenshot featuring a picture of an elderly man from This Meme Is From the Future on a crucifix on /r/me_irl[5] (shown below). Within five months, the post gathered upwards of 3,000 points (95% upvoted).

On May 25th, 2017, Redditor LepelDeLepel submitted a text message screenshot featuring a picture of a Teletubby doll on a trash heap to /r/dankmemes,[4] where it gathered upwards of 2,300 points (96% upvoted) within 24 hours. That day, Redditor Im-not-good-at-names submitted a post asking if the "What's Your Religion" memes were "on the rise" along with an image featuring Haggord to /r/MemeEconomy (shown below, right).[3]
