What Most Single Guys Want for Christmas is a series of photoshopped cartoons that illustrates a woman gifting her buttocks to man. Users have photoshopped different images over the woman's buttocks with other humorous things that men might want.

Origin

On December 27th, 2012, Tumblr user drawnothing posted the original comic that featured the male character receiving a woman's buttocks in a box as a gift entitled "day 24 – trade gifts." The post received more than 130 notes (shown below).[10]

Spread

On October 28th, 2013, Imgur [2] user thisisprocrastination posted the image. The post received more than 6,000 points and 250,000 views in four years.

The following year, on December 25th, 2014, a user on the site justpo.st[3] uploaded the picture under the title "What every man wants for Christmas." The picture received more than 150 views in three years.

On November 9th, 2016, an anonymous 9GAG user [4] posted the image without the speech bubble, the woman's hair made to appear longer and the title "When you don't have a gift for your boyfriend." The post (shown below, left) received more than 26,000 points in one year.

The following month, on December 6th, an anonymous 9GAG user posted the picture again, this time with the caption "What most single guys want for Christmas." The post (shown below, right) became the template for the meme and received more than 23,000 points in one year.

In November 2017, variations of the meme, in which users would replace the butt with different pictures began appearing online. On the subreddit /r/MemeEconomy, three different threads were made about trend (example below).[7][8][9]
