About
What Happened To Hello, How Are you? is a catchphrase spoken by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree, which originally aired back in 2009 but became a viral TikTok viral audio sample a decade later. On TikTok, the quote has been used in several different ways since its introduction to the site in mid-2020, typically in skits and other jokes with an on-screen caption.
Origin
The audio used in the TikTok trend originally comes from the TV show Real Housewives of Atlanta, specifically from season two, episode three, titled "Unbeweavable," which was spoken by the housewife Sheree. The snippet comes from her speaking directly to the camera in a behind-the-scenes approach, similar to The Office, and the clip was uploaded to YouTube by the channel ShahEmad[2] on September 30th, 2020, where it went on to gain over 104,000 views in two years (shown below).
On August 13th, 2020, TikToker marithe_guy[1] uploaded one of the first instances of the audio sample's use on TikTok, with the punchline being a joke about how his mother is already yelling at him when he wakes up. The clip earned over 280,000 likes in two years (shown below).
Spread
On September 17th, 2020, actress and content creator Skai Jackson uploaded her own TikTok[3] using the audio, recycling the earlier said jokes about how rude it is when your mother immediately starts yelling at you, earning over 1.2 million likes in two years (shown below).
On January 6th, 2022, the TikToker francissob_m3[4] uploaded a version that changed the formula for the meme and trend, pushing its versatility and revitalizing it further. The audio still plays as usual, but it's over a face cam view of her reacting to a DM sent to her by someone claiming that their dad died and they need "titty pictures" to feel better, earning over 1.2 million likes in nine months (shown below).
