We're Costco Guys refers to a viral video on TikTok posted by father-son TikTokers A.J. and Big Justice (@a.j.befumo) in 2024, in which they're at a Costco store saying, "We're Costco guys! Of course, we go shopping while eating a chicken bake!" and "We're Costco guys! Of course, we had to try the new double chunk chocolate cookie!" The video followed the We're X, Of Course We Y TikTok trend. It soon became the subject of memes and edits in March 2024, manifesting in duets and lip dub recreations. Also, drawing recreations surfaced. Going into 2024, meme creators started using different videos from @a.j.befumo's account, like one where the father (A.J.) keeps saying, "It's a Double Chunk Chocolate Cookie."

Origin

On March 1st, 2024, TikToker^[1] @a.j.befumo posted a video that started with his son Big Justice saying, "We're Costco guys! Of course we go shopping while eating a chicken bake!" A.J. then said, "We're Costco guys! Of course we had to try the new double chunk chocolate cookie!" Over two weeks, the video received roughly 20.3 million plays and 2.1 million likes (shown below).

After the video went viral, users on the app parodied and lip dubbed it, like TikToker^[2] @cheeseballsinthehizhouse on March 1st, 2024, whose duet gained over 3.5 million plays and 366,300 likes in two weeks (shown below, left).

On March 4th, 2024, TikToker^[3] @wizardinatshirt recreated the video in a Costco store, receiving over 2 million plays and 138,200 likes in 11 days (shown below, right).

Meme edits of the video also surfaced during the same timeframe, like a distressing edit posted by TikToker^[4] @hexgd on March 3rd, 2024, which warped and darkened the father and son's faces, earning over 3.3 million plays and 488,500 likes in 13 days (shown below, left).

On March 10th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @zork.honerd posted a drawing recreation of the video, receiving over 3.8 million plays and 486,400 likes in five days (shown below, right). TikToker^[6] @funky_artist14 posted a similar video also on March 10th, 2024.

On March 12th, 2024, the father-son duo posted a video to their TikTok^[7] @a.j.befumo in which the dad (A.J.) is being asked by many people, "Hey A.J., What's that?" to which he repeatedly responds, "It's a double chunk chocolate cookie." Over three days, the video received over 4.7 million plays and 457,600 likes (shown below, left).

The video received its own slew of memes and edits similar to the We're Costco Guys video. For instance, on March 14th, 2024, TikToker^[8] @yourthirdwheel posted an edit with the video, gaining over 214,500 plays and 34,800 likes in less than a day (shown below, right).
