On August 25th, 2012, Filthy Frank uploaded "HOW TO SAY HELLO IN 30 LANGUAGES." For his impression of how to say "hello" in many asian countries, the camera zooms in on him as he screams "Welcome to the rice fields, motherfucker!"

The day after he uploaded the video, he posted "WELCOME TO THE RICE FIELDS MOTHERFUCKER" on his Facebook page^[1] and gained over 1,200 likes. On October 5th, 2012, the clip of Frank saying the line was posted to the subreddit /r/youtubehaiku^[2] where it gained 79 points. The clip has gained over 800,000 views in four years. Over the next four years, the phrase has become a popular joke among Filthy Frank fans, appearing in dozens of image macros and referenced in other fandoms. It also appeared in several YouTube remix videos as a punchline clip (ex: shown below).
