In her video, she adds white powder and turmeric into a champagne glass. When she shines her phone flashlight beneath the glass, the powders produce a visual reaction, lighting up as if enchanted dust. The post amassed over 200 million views and 12 million likes in two weeks.

The trend quickly gained viral spread on social media in the following weeks, inspiring thousands of netizens to recreate the water magic trick, especially with parents recording their kids and family seeing the trick being displayed for the first time. For instance, on June 15th, 2025, TikTok^[2] user @gabiiksantos recorded her kids' reaction to the water magic trend, garnering over 68 million plays and 3 million likes in two weeks.

On June 21st, 2025, TikTok^[3] user @master.fam1 posted a video showing his kitty's reaction to the water magic trick, which amassed more than 111 million plays and 6 million likes in a week.
