About
Wake Up! It's No Use! He's in A Deep Coma! refers to an exploitable image macro that originated from an edited panel of an edition of the comic Morning Glories, drawn by artist Joe Eisma. The meme template depicts a bandaged man laying on a hospital bed as his friends attempt to coax him awake by saying, "Wake Up!," "C'mon, snap out of it!," "Please…if you can hear my voice…," "It's no use! He's in a deep coma!" The bandaged man is then shown to wake up after a punchline, often to the effect of his prized possessions being sold, a familiar sound or in anticipation of an event. While the origins of the template are unknown, the meme first went viral on Reddit in 2019.
