Vivek I Edge to You is a variant catchphrase of I Edge to You that internet users spam in the comment section of Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's TikTok videos. The phrase uses the slang term "edge" which is the act of stopping oneself just before orgasm or ejaculation. Telling Ramaswamy "I edge to you" was ironic, employed as a tactic to flood and annoy Ramaswamy on his own videos.

Origin

On September 13th, 2023, Vivek Ramaswamy posted his first TikTok^[1] video, gaining roughly 598,500 plays and 13,900 likes in 15 days. On September 14th, 2023, TikToker @horsemaskbob commented on the video, "We edge to you Vivek," gaining over 5,200 likes in two weeks (shown below, left). On the next two TikToks^[2]^[3] Ramaswamy uploaded, others left similar comments which were also posted on September 14th (shown below, center and right).

Spread

In the days that followed, the "I edge to you" comments gained increased attention, such as in a video posted by TikToker^[4] @littleyeg on September 15th, 2023, gaining roughly 217,400 plays and 15,500 likes in 13 days (shown below, left). On September 16th, TikToker^[5] @speechprof posted a similar video, gaining roughly 53,400 plays and 2,700 likes in 12 days (shown below, right).

Awareness of the meme started to spread in the weeks that followed, evident in a post shared by X^[6] user @ettingermentum on September 27th, 2023, who captioned a screenshot of a Hoosier Hive News^[7] article with, "Reading about politics," gaining roughly 6,000 likes in a day (shown below).
