Victor, You Actually Did This refers to a viral video on TikTok in which a girl is surprised by her boyfriend, who is shyly recording her reaction while she says the phrase, "Victor, you actually did this." The wholesome moment became the subject of parodies and memes on TikTok in early February 2024, with many using the catchphrase from the original in various skits recreating the scene.
Origin
On January 26th, 2024, TikTok[1] user @beautyofliyah posted a video showing the surprise her boyfriend had for her 19th birthday (shown below). In a particular moment of the video, while she was recording her bedroom filled with flowers and heart balloons, she said the line, "Victor, you actually did this," and showed the shy boyfriend holding his phone in the corner of the room. The video amassed more than 2.9 million plays and 566,000 likes in two weeks.
Spread
A few weeks after the video went viral on TikTok, some users started to replicate the boyfriend's reaction to being recorded. For example, on February 3rd, 2024, TikTok[2] user @angelinanicole._ uploaded a parody video (shown below, left) reenacting the original video, which received over 9 million plays and 1.9 million likes in three days.
On February 4th, 2024, TikTok[3] user @shivyyspamms posted a similar parody video (shown below, right), which garnered more than 9 million plays and 1.9 million likes in one day;
