About

They Jumped My Ass, also known as Vegeta Tweeting, is a fanmade video of Dragon Ball character Vegeta opening the X / Twitter app and tweeting, "They jumped my ass," while he's on the ground after he was defeated by an enemy. The clip uses a scene from the 2020 Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot video game, which became a viral reaction video in April 2023. The meme format also spawned redraws and parodies on social media.

Origin

On April 12th, 2023, YouTube[1] user @ayikamis posted the earliest viral mention of the edited video from the Goku vs. Vegeta boss fight in the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot video game, which shows Vegeta opening his X account to tweet, "They jumped my ass," after he was defeated. The tweet (seen below) received over 1.2 million views and 47,000 in a year.

The clip was created by YouTube[2] user @ic3_115 on March 25th, 2023, in a video titled "The Saiyan Saga Is PEAK Dragon Ball," which received roughly 820 views and 80 likes in a year.

Spread
