Unwashed Ass, also known as I'll Be Damned and Wash Ya Ass, refers to a video posted by TikToker Akintoye in which he responds to a negative commenter by rapping about how his opinion doesn't matter because he doesn't wash his ass. The video went viral in June 2021 across multiple social media platforms, inspiring its sound to go viral in skits across TikTok.

Origin

On June 15th, 2021, TikToker^[1] @yeahitsak (Akintoye) posted a video inferring people that believe in the alpha male mentality don't wash their asses, garnering over 1.3 million views in a month (shown below). That day, TikToker @tdloco60 commented, "Why u wearing that bonnet talking bout what men do aye bro sticc to the raps and take off the bonnet. I'd rather be stinky than wheat a bonnet in public." The comment has since been removed.

That day, Akintoye posted a video to TikTok^[2] responding to the comment with a rap about how he won't take the commenter's advice because he doesn't wash his ass (shown below). The video went viral, garnering over 7.4 million views in a month.

The original sound became increasingly popular over the course of June and July 2021 in lip-dub skits on the platform, the most popular of which represent an opinion, rule, etc. they disagree with, followed by them breaking the rule to the sound. For example, on June 19th, TikToker^[5] @trinaselena posted a video in which she wears her dad's clothes against his wishes, garnering over 2.6 million views in a month (shown below).

On the same date, the video was posted to YouTube,^[3] garnering over 126,000 views in a month. Also on that day, Twitter^[6] user @innocentacan tweeted, "'I’ll be damned if I listen to facts up out the mouth of a man with an unwashed ass' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 turn that shit UP!"

On July 4th, Redditor lilmcfuggin then posted the video to /r/TikTokCringe,^[4] garnering over 16,200 upvotes in two weeks. The trend continued to spread into late July, inspiring over 70,000 videos using it by July 20th (popular examples from July shown below, left and right).

On July 13th, actress and model Lindsey Pelas posted a video to TikTok^[7] and Twitter^[8] using the sound, garnering over 14,000 views on the former and 79,000 on the latter, as well as over 4,700 likes (shown below).
